For reasons that aren't entirely obvious to me, the <a class="zem_slink" title="Speech synthesis" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speech_synthesis">Text-to-Speech</a> (TTS) debate continues to rage months after <a class="zem_slink" title="Amazon" rel="homepage" href="http://amazon.com/">Amazon</a> was forced to disable TTS functionality on the <a class="zem_slink" title="Amazon Kindle" rel="homepage" href="http://www.amazon.com">Kindle</a>.
